On PC in 2025, without those advantages and in a disappointingly shaky state, it’s much more difficult to recommend. The majority of the side activities wind up feeling both mechanically and narratively pointless. An electric bike race feels silly enough in a Spider-Man game, but when the stakes are just “I need someone to try out my electric bike”, it’s hard not to think Miles and Peter have more pressing stuff to be getting on with. Far too much of what you’re doing feels like padding from the early days of open world games—there’s more inspiration here from Crackdown than there is from GTA V.
After Peter viciously defeats the Hunters with his newly enhanced powers, Kraven develops an interest in hunting Peter personally. Eventually, Peter and Miles team up to take Venom down, but Harry is left in a coma as the symbiote is finally destroyed. This leads to two crucial scenes that will lead into Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, as Norman Osborn blames Peter for Harry’s situation and meets up with Dr. Otto Octavius to plan how to defeat him. Overall, the game is a phenomenal experience, and its 32 missions are all rich and full of content. The beginning of the game’s third act is arguably the most fun part of the game, as players take control of Venom/ Harry Osborn as he fights out of the Oscorp laboratory.

To unfog the map you must go everywhere yourself and it will reveal everything in a radius around you (there are no sync towers to unfog the map). Alternatively, when reaching District Level 2 (from finding Collectibles) it will automatically unfog the whole district and unlock fast travel. For players with high-performance PCs, High, Very High, and Ultimate Ray Tracing options are available to more finely tune their experience. With these settings, players can use higher-quality raytracing meshes and use the raytracing object range slider to make adjustments.
For it to count you have to activate these abilities DURING a Symbiote Surge (after the yellow bar in top right is fully charged and you pressed + to activate it). If you use these abilities without enabling Symbiote Charge it won’t count. 4 of them are automatically unlocked from story progress (unmissable) and 2 are bought from Peter’s skill tree. While the Symbiote Surge is active you have to trigger Symbiote Abilities a total of 25 times. Equip 4 of these abilities and make sure they are all charged and ready before activating the Surge. Then you can spam all 4 abilities in quick succession before the Surge ends.

Developed by Nixxes, this version offers PC-enhanced features to Insomniac’s game, including new ray tracing options, upscaling, ultra-widescreen support, and more. They allow to get prettier reflections and shadows, as well as more realistic looking lighting (the game supports Nvidia DLSS Ray Reconstruction technology).
